It stated in the certificate that both parents of bride and bridegroom were not able to write because they never learned.. Arnoldus van Swaaij (son of Arnoldus van Swaaij and Wilhelmina Jansen) was born on 28 Sep 1832 in Wageningen, Gelderland, the Netherlands. He was a labourer, farmers-hand, shop-keeper. Arnoldus was enrolled by the regiment of Infantry under #. 137 and after 5 year service discharged. Grada Angenent and Arnoldus van Swaaij had the following children:
